Giving Back A Program for Kids

March 1st, 2020 is the official kick-off date for this program.

There have been Parent Classes to go over this program and what it can mean for families. If you would like to find out more then this page tells you then email

This is a program that will give an opportunity for children, through 5th grade, to give back to God. They will be given different ways to do this.

We are not taking the parent’s role, instead I would like to assist parents. I would like to have a class to talk with parents about what we are offering and why.

God has called us to be good stewards. Of our TIME, TREASURES, and TALENTS.

-Parents will be getting a special newsletter every other month, focusing on different ways to get their kids thinking about how to use their time and talents(spiritual gifts) for God. There will be talking points, activities parents can do on their own time with their children, scripture verses, and questions to have their kids think about.

Plan: Parents will be given a Giving Back Newsletter. It this newsletter there will be different ways that parents can teach and show their children that giving their time back to God is important. The parents will be given the resources from the newsletter, but will be able to implement in a meaningful way at home.

Ephesians 5:15-17 “Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”

1 Thess 5:14 “And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, encourage the faint hearted, help the weak, be patient with them all.”

Romans 12:6a “Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them…”

1 Timothy 6:18 “They are to do good to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share.”

-Students in the older grades will be presented with different ways to use our spiritual gifts. This can be an opportunity for students to learn what God has given them as a spiritual gift.  Different jobs can be given at church that can help them see the value in giving their talents back to God. Helping to clean the kitchen, doing the trash, greeting other students, etc. Talents(spiritual gifts):

Plan: Children will be given opportunities to sign up for different things at church. They will be offered before, and after services, possibly during a service if they are attending both services. Parents will be emailed to give information about the position the child signed up for. This will be offered to the 4th-5th grade class, right now.

Gather offering, greeting in the children’s wing, cleaning the fellowship cafe, writing letters to shut ins, empty trash cans, organize papers, wipe down tables, write a note to those unable to come to Sunday School that day, and ect.

Romans 12:4-6a “For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them.

1 Peter 4:10 “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.”

Psalm 139:16 Y “Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Your book were all written the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them.”

Matthew 10:8  “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.”

Eph 5:1 “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved  children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”

-Offering box will be in the children’s wing, so any child can give at any time. Without others watching and knowing. After students learn about missions in their classroom they will be given an opportunity to give back. Every 3 to 4 months we will switch the offering project. It will always be a missions or children’s program.

Plan: In the children’s wing we will have an offering box that will be available to them every week. Every 4 or 3 weeks there will be a different ministry that we will be giving to . The ministry will be either child or missions related.

Acts 20:35 “In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.

2 Corinthians 9:7 “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, [so let him give]; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Matthew 6:21For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

Matthew 6:3  “But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:”

1 Timothy 6:7  “For we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world.”

.Proverbs 22:6 ‘Train up a child in the way he should go, even  when he is old he will not depart from it.’

If we are able to come along side parents and give them the resources that they need to teach their children, then we will have kids growing into adults who have Christ-Centered hearts. Our goal is to be an extension of what the parents are teaching at home.

To be partners with each parent in this journey, not to take over for them!
