What is the Bucks Bible Institute?
It is a series of four academic courses which are designed to give disciples of Jesus Christ a foundational understanding of the entire Bible.
Is this just something for the “intellectuals” in the church?
Absolutely not! Each course will focus on teaching foundational biblical truths that every adult disciple of Jesus Christ should know. If you are hungry for spiritual growth, the Bucks Bible Institute is for you.
You mentioned adult disciples, but can teenagers participate too?
What courses are being offered?
Fall 2018 – Biblical Interpretation (Learn how to understand the Bible)
Spring 2019 – Old Testament Survey (Learn the message of the OT)
Fall 2019 – New Testament Survey (Learn the message of the NT)
Spring 2020 – Systematic Theology (Learn the major doctrines of the Bible)
What is the academic level of each course?
These are introductory courses that will in some ways resemble a freshman Bible college course and in other ways a first-year seminary course.
Are there any prerequisites?
Nope. However, the courses will flow together best when taken in the order listed above.
What is the format of the courses?
Each course runs for 12 weeks and meets for two hours at a time for lecture and discussion.
Is there homework?
Yes, there are weekly readings and regular assignments to help participants thoughtfully engage with the text of Scripture.
Do I have to commit to the whole two-year program to participate?
No. You only need to commit to one class at a time. Our hope is to continue offering each course on a rotation, so if you miss one, you can try to take it the next time it comes around.
Is there any cost to participate?
While each course is absolutely free, each course requires one textbook, which participants are encouraged to purchase for their personal library.
